A Guide to Leigh-On-Sea
Posted on August 05 2019
Leigh-on-Sea the home of Vanessa Shoes, was recently crowned the happiest place to live in the UK by Rightmove.
With that, we thought we would give you a step by guide on a fabulous day trip to the happiest place to live.
1. Boutique Shopping
First, you should start your morning by visiting the shop boutiques that Leigh has to offer. Have a mooch at clothing boutiques such as Ruby Room, Just Cheek, Just Fox, Left Bank Six and Jez all within walking distance of each other along the broadway. These boutiques are perfect to find outfits for a day or night out, selling everything from dresses to gifts/furniture. Compliment your clothing purchases from the previously stated boutiques and make a trip to Vanessa Shoe's to find the perfect shoes to go with your new pieces, from the famous Havainas flip flops to the bespoke Vanessa London Tiffany Stiletto heel.
Leigh-on-Sea is known for its fine dining. From burgers restaurants to an Italian to a classic pub lunch, you name it Leigh has got it. When there are so many fabulous places to eat/drink it was hard to choose 1, so we gave you our top 4 restaurants...
CUCINA- Pictured above in our Vanessa London SS19 campaign is Cucina, a great spot to eat your favourite Italian dishes! Since opening in 2013, Cucina has been very popular for its specialising in Italian and Sicilian cuisine, as well as providing various meat and fish dishes. In addition to this, they also provide an exquisite wine menu. During the week Tuesday-Friday they offer a lunch menu deal 2 courses for £12.95 running from 12:00-15:00.
HENRY BURGERS - Perfect for a catch up with friends, Henry Burger's offers a fun experience, with a cool edge. Fabulous tasting burgers and hot dogs, whilst also offering a fantastic vegan/vegetarian selection. Wash down your burger with their signature cocktails and enjoy the bar nightlife for the rest of the evening (The strawberry daiquiri is our personal fave).
FELLINI'S DOLCE VITA - A perfect fusion of fine dining and Italian food. New to the scene is Fellini's, which provides excellent service, good tasting food which is also complemented with a delicious glass of fine wine (or a bottle, you decide!) Fellini's is 1 out of 3 of their amazing venues, which also includes Baboush and The Dining Rooms which are located not too far from Leigh-On-Sea and which should also be checked out, if you make another visit. Fellini also has a special lunchtime menu (Sunday - Monday 12:30-15:00), which includes 2 courses and a glass of prosecco, house wine or a cocktail starting from £15.
THE PETERBOAT- Famous amongst the locals, the Peterboat is the place to be during the summer days. This pub/restaurant is perfect for sitting in the sun along the seafront whilst enjoying traditional British dishes washed down with a glass/jug of Pimms shared amongst friends/families! The Peterboat is also a host of music with bands during the Leigh-On-Sea Folk Festival season, which is a time we would recommend to visit!
3. What to see
After visiting the clothing and shoe boutiques, and having a spot of lunch you must visit the beach to have a well deserved relax. There are many benches to sit and enjoy the view, but if you're not too afraid of getting sand between your toes then you cannot beat a nice stroll along the beach with an ice cream. (Don't forget your suncream!!) Along the beach, you can walk till your heart's content, which might mean you could end up all the way along Southend Seafront!
*Note to self, pick a day that the sun is shining*
